Good question! The Petiscope works thanks to two curved lenses inside, precisely at the right focal length for maximum magnification! By adjusting the distance between the two lenses, as well as the object itself, you'll be able to get a sharp, close-up image.
The distance between the lenses is set by turning the two black knobs, one at the very top and the other a little lower down. And yes, we can assure you that it's much better than a magnifying glass!😅

Not exactly, the chassis is made entirely of high-quality ABS plastic. The glass lenses inside are extremely thick and well-protected.
You can say it's very durable, as long as your kids don't try to stand on it and dance for long periods of time.

It’s been 6 months since we started using the Petiscope, and despite a few minor technical issues or breakages (inevitable with kids!), the customer service has always been incredibly responsive and accommodating. We’re delighted with the variety of content available for observations, there’s something to satisfy every curiosity, and the accessories are of excellent quality. Thanks to their Petiscope, our kids have discovered so many things and enriched their vocabulary by asking fascinating questions about their findings. Last year, we switched to the new version, and while there were a few technical adjustments at first (understandable for the launch of an innovative product), everything is working perfectly now. It Calms Him Down, It's Great!
My son is autistic, and he often struggles to focus on an activity. The Petiscope has been a wonderful surprise because now he spends long moments observing the objects he finds up close. He’s captivated by the details, and it calms him down a lot. I wish it were a bit more durable since he tends to handle it roughly, but it’s still an excellent tool to awaken his curiosity.

An indispensable asset...
The Petiscope is a tool that quickly became indispensable in our children’s lives over the past few years. It helps them develop their curiosity, learn to observe attentively, ask questions about what they discover, and, above all, spend calm moments having fun. One downside, though: with heavy use over time, repairs were needed. We have an original Petiscope from four years ago that’s been used daily and has been repaired once. Luckily, customer service was responsive and efficient. We’re planning to test the new slide box soon to enhance our children’s discoveries even more. We can’t wait to see what it brings!

Great for Our Vacation in the Alps!

A Great Tool for Fine Motor Skills
Honestly, it’s really good. I’m a special education teacher, and I’ve integrated the microscope into the activities of a 5-year-old child with a disability. He has fine motor skill difficulties, and this little microscope is an excellent way for him to work on his gestures while having fun. Petiscope - A daily joy for my son
What can I say about the Petiscope? I came across it by chance, and it’s been indispensable for us for several years now. With a child who we try to limit screen time for, the Petiscope was our ideal solution. Our son has been a fan from the start. He uses it every night, in the morning, sometimes even at lunch, and during car trips... In short, it’s part of his daily life. A small downside, though, is the fragility of certain parts, but the customer service is always quick and efficient in solving any issues. Sometimes it can take a while to choose what to explore depending on his mood, but it’s always an enjoyable experience. In summary, an investment that has more than proven its worth despite needing a few minor adjustments!

All the packaging and instructions are in French. And as I explored it, I found it very difficult to work with. Would be very difficult for a child. I have sent a request for a refund without any reply. I am very dissatisfied and I would like to hear from someone, and I would like to return them, and get a refund!
